Kathy Bender, SPHR

Kathy Bender, principal and founder of KB Management Consulting, has 25 years of experience helping businesses grow and prosper.

After serving 15 years in corporate Human Resource leadership roles, Kathy founded KB Management Consulting in 2001.  In this capacity, Kathy partners with management teams of smaller companies to help them get the most for their human capital investment, and serves as a project resource to larger organizations with limited HR staff.  A sample of client projects can be found here.

Immediately prior to her consulting career, Kathy served as the Director of Organizational Development for a 4,000-employee IT consulting company where she developed and implemented an HR strategy to shift the business from a ‘staffing’ model to a full-service ‘e-solutions’ offering.  Earlier, in the mid-90’s, she headed HR for a global chemical engineering company during a period of unprecedented growth.  From 1988-1994, Kathy directed all HR functions of an aerospace company maintaining union-free status through two changes in ownership and a marked decline in defense sales.  But it was her earlier experience that first helped her realize her passion for human resources.  From a blank slate, Kathy worked with her mentor to establish employment practices, benefits and processes for a family-owned start-up auto importer that grew six-fold to 300 employees in just 3 years.

Kathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Binghamton and advanced (SPHR) accreditation from the HR Certification Institute.  She has served on the board of New Jersey’s largest Society for HR Management (SHRM) chapter for more than 10 years, currently as the Vice President of Communications.

As the founder and principal of

KB Management Consulting, Kathy takes personal responsibility

for every client engagement.
